Homelink

I bought a set of sun visors from a Harley Davidson F150 with the lighted vanity mirrors and the Homelink garage door openers. I assumed there would be some standard wiring in my 04 FX4 that these would plug into. No such luck. I talked to the local Ford dealer about it and they couldn't tell me how they wired up. They kindly offered to sell me a $500 review mirror with garage door openers on it. No thank you!

I did a search of for homelink and found a bunch of posts. Some said that there should be a wiring harness tucked above the door under the headliner. I checked but can't find anything. My truck has a moon roof. I pulled the overhead lamp/moon roof switch assemply down and didn't find anything there either.

I can't believe that there wouldn't be a standarized wire/plug that these visors would plug into.

The post that I made on the connector being above the door tapped back against the loom, was for a 2001 MY truck, but different then the 04+ MY trucks.

Assuming that you purchased the visors from a 04+ MY HD ( think that was '05 + ?? ) :

Taking a look at the 2006 EVTM, connector C219 is common to both vanity mirrors.

This is in the right hand A-pillar.

The wiring to the 2 connectors at the visors ( C906 & C907 ) seems to be in the roof, if it is installed.

C219 does not see to be common to the roof opening panel, nor the interior lamps ( map / dome lights ), can't find straight away what the other 6 pin are for in C219.

Start by removing the A-pillar cover, and finding C219, to see if pin #1 ( light green w/ orange stripe ) and pin 2 ( black ) are in the connector, and if so, if the continue up the a-pillar to the roof.

The location of C219 seems to be about 2/3rd the way up the door jamb area ( about the top of the glove box door ? ).

Good luck, let us know what you find.

Thanks. I'll check that out. I'm about ready to seriously tear things apart to see what I can find. My wife drives an 04 Expedition Eddie Bauer which has the lighted/Homelink visors. I'm going to explore that as well to see if there are any similarities.
