Brake Switch Bypass & 4X4 Switch Function

I have a 2004 Supercrew 4X4 that I have to prepare for European market registration. This entails installing yellow bulbs in the revers lights and converting them to turn signals. A separate white light will be mounted under the rear bumper for a reverse light. Also have to do some headlight mods and drill/install turn signal indicators in the front fenders just below the 150 emblem.

Now here is my problem. Since the red turn and brake lights are tied together I have to bypass that circuit by cutting the output side of the brake switch and running a new wire directly to the rear for the brakes. Other splices in the back are made to rig up the signals and new reverse light. Unfortunately the 4X4 switch is tied through the brake switch circuit for 4X4 low insertion. I need to locate this circuit and tie the 12v signal from the brake switch to it AFTER the turn signal circuit. Make sense? Since the original brake circuit routes through the turn signals I have to connect after since I am disconnecting the factory brake circuit to prevent them from blinking.

Anybody have a diagram to see where I can make the splice and save me some time?

Ooooh... this one's going to be tricky... I don't have the '04 schematics in front of me, but it may not be possible. See, since both the brake and the turn signal are ultimately controlled by the multifunction switch, You'd have to tap into the brake signal between the brake on-off switch (mounted to the pedal) and the multifunction switch on the column. However, if you did that, you would still need the brake light to work, just not the tuen signal when you apply the brakes, correct?

I guess what I'm asking is can you have the original red light flash with the amber one? If so, then it'll be an easy thing to straighten out. If not, this one's gonna be a tuffy...

If it was me I
1)would cut the brake/turn signal wires at the rear lights to isolate them from the turning signal.

2)Then you could install a separate brake switch at the pedal and wire it to your tailights. At this point you just have brake light at your tailights only.

3)Then you could trace the brake/turn signal wires that you cut on step 1 back and try to tap them into the front signal wires at a convenient location.

4)Connect these wires to your new turning lights at the back.

I have no idea how the electrical system work on this truck. I don't have electrical drawings for this truck. There could be other easy way to achieve this by taking a look at the electrical drawings.

What about buying one of those "Trailer" wiring modules for wiring amber turn signals....would that work?

I don't think those are going to work. They are meant to be used when you want to hook up a trailer with no amber turn signal to an european car that do have them.
