2001 F150 - Systems go down over time....

Hi folks - I have a 2001 F150 Lariat - if I dont drive the truck for a couple of days it will start just fine - but the electric windows, electronic display of temp and compass wont work and although there is power to the stereo it wont work.

If i drive it the following day, the windows will then work fine, the following day the electronic temp and compass displauy comes back online, and on the 3rd day the stereo will start working again!

In short, if I drive it every day I dont have any issues - but if I leave it for more than a couple of days then some systems start going down - I live in Houston TX so obviously we have a hot and humid environment.

Anyone got any ideas why these problems occur?

Thanks
Yogs

I have a 95 taurus that does something similiar

turn signals, speed control, 4-way flashers and horn do this

once in 4 years that wipers failed to work

Once had a dealership in Mobile alabama replace a heater core on this car

service writer called said that they could not let me have car because there was none of the above were working and they could not release it to me.
they estimated it would take 8 hours to find and fix the problem

told her, remember I came in at 6:00 AM in the dark in a pouring rain with both the wipers and lights on, told her you broke it you fix it no charge because the worked when it came in

she said that she would have to talk to the service manager, she called back they could not fix without charging. at that point I told her we were coming for the car.

she then said that they had detected antifreeze in he exhaust and looked like in the oil and that they could not release the car with out repairing.

Told her we would be there withn a lawyer in a few minutes, her tune changed and said that I could have the vehicle

when we got there, the insde looked like the mechanic rolled arround in the grease pit then rolled arround in the car, told them we would be back in morning and the they needed to clean the car

they cleaned the car.

we took car home and found a connector disconnected in the steering column, reconnected and everything worked, time involved 10 minutes

only in the last couple of years that these items become intermmittment, after a couple of days parked, but they go bavck tyo functioning.

have looked but everey thing checks, possibly a bad wire or connection

oh and he antifreeze thing, have pulled oil samples and no antifreeze or oil in water, exhaust, had an independent mechanic we use check and he could not detect any.
