Wiper problem

I have a 1999 f150 ve 4.6.
My wipers stopped working today. I noticed i could still hear the wiper motor running. So i manually started to turn the wiper arm back and forth , an noticed that with the wiper motor still running, it was hitting or clicking against the wiper arm, because i could feel it. Is it possible that the wiper arms separated from the wiper motor?
If so, where is the wiper motor? how would i access it, and is it a simple process to connect them back?
Sorry, i am very new to this.
Thanks everyone

The wiper motor must have seperated from the linkage. Motor and linkage all come as one unit and are under the black plastic grill between the windshield and hood.

Worker perfectly

I removed the black grill inbetween the winshield and the hood. The linkage from the wiper motor seperated, i popped it back in to place and it worked perfectly.
Thanks
