Keyless Entry Pad?

Hello all, I'm new to this site.. I've been reading alot of the threads on this subject and couldn't really pin point the location of the code for the keyless entry pad.

I called my local So Cal dealership and asked them how to go about getting the code, and they told me i had to pay roughly $50 to get it from them. I'm not going to pay them to give me a number that should have come with my truck.

I'm going tomorrow to pick up the handle (6L3Z-1522405-AB) and looking to install it tomorrow. Can anyone provide some guidance on where inside the vehicle i can find the code??

I have a 2006 F150 XLT Extended Cab(2 1/2) doors.. Forget what ford calls it.. SuperCab maybe?

Thanks in advance, you guys are a great resource for all kinds of tech help!

Thanks

Few threads here with the info on this :

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=286863

I took the gallery listed in the thread above, along with some additional threads, and put it into a word doc ( listed in the thread above ).
Right click save as the word doc.

If you search around with the term keypad, you should find all the threads that I used to put the doc together.

Pay attention to the ones that had to have the as built data changed, as it might apply to your truck ( not all had to do this ).

Did you buy the truck new? I ask because there may be a credit card sized card in the owners booklet that has the code on it. Otherwise you may have to bring it to a dealer to retrieve. I don't think the rke module has it labeled on it..

The truck does not have the card with it and the stealership does not want to give me the code till i cough up $60 bucks....

Yes the truck is new, and I'm the first owner... I got it last year, haven't had a lot of time to do anything to it, i just got back from a deployment.

I want to thank all you guys for the contributions of advice and step-by-step explanations of this mod for me.

Everything went good, i had a little trouble with the back seat, but once i referenced back to the instructions provided on here, the seat just "popped" right out.. It was awesome!

The directions for changing out the handle could not have been written any better and helped make the whole process extremely smooth!

Guys again thank you for the advice and saving me a ton of money!

Gallery should be stickied!!!

I went to
https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=5660

looked thru the three galleries and read the captions and did it in less than twenty minutes. I didn't even bother to take off the center seatbelt (I took off the plastic cover by using a screw driver to take the cap off to get to the two bolts, but didn't bother with the funky star bolt holding the seatbelt on) laid the back seat straight onto the seat bottom and pulled back the covering on the keypad.

I tried using another method where you have to squeeze your hand behind the seat and try to pull the clip off...all I got was a couple bloody knuckles from scraping against metal. This rules!!!
