My 97 F-150 does not have the fog light option. But upon inspection i found that the wire harness has the pigtails there for the fog lights, as well as the relay location. When looking at the headlamp switch it turns to headlights and then pulls like it would for a truck with for lamps.
My question is this, if i were to install the fog lamps into the bumper and hook the pigtails up, Install a relay....would the lights work? Chris

i did this to my truck and i needed to install the oem lights by taking out the plastic inserts in the bumper and removing the the crossbar on the inside of the bumper, and put a new head lamp switch in because the final connection is made in the headlamp switch. what type of switch do you have? (auto or manual)

Rely, 2 fuses, and I would think the switch ( but we will verify that ).
1st : Install the Fog lamp relay
2nd : Install a fuse in the Central Junction Box position #27, 5A fuse
- At this point when the main headlamp switch is in the on position, and the MFS is in the low beam position, when you pull the switch out, the fog lamp icon should light. That is if the correct switch is installed, and the wiring is in the truck between the headlamp switch and the fuse panel in the cab.
3rd : Install a fuse Battery Junction box ( under the hood ) in position #9, 15 A fuse.
At this point, when you do the procedure in step #2, there should be + DC voltage ( 12 to 13.4 ) at the fog lamp connector behind the bumper. Color code : Tan w/ Orange stripe wire is Pos, Black wire is ground.
That is the easy test, there are a few other ways to get to it, which we might need to do if this does not work straight away.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out.
