I have a 98 f150 v8 4.6L, and the light behind my gas guage burnt out possible? I was wondering how to take off the dash, so i can change the bulb, or if theres another way to do it...

I have a 97 - same bulb went last week ----- pulling the dash for that bulb is a pain - didn't tackel it....yet r/Zerb

 

Both my Father in law and I have 98 F150 and these bulbs are out too. On his the bulb behind the tach is gone as well. I don't think these should be too bad, just haven't had time to tackle them yet.

 

Just did this, if you do a search for instrument lights, etc, you will get some good info.

It took me two weeks of tinkering to get the headlight switch out. My Chiltons Manual had directions to remove the headlight switch that were totally wrong for my 97 F150. I got the right ones on here.

But the switch release did not work, so I ever so carefully pryed the latches open with a screwdriver, after also getting great info here.

Once the headlight switch is out, the rest is easy.

I guess I missed one bulb, cause my speedo is still dark at the top.
