Is there anyway to disable the chime that happens when the door is open and the key is in the ignition? This is on an 07 screw.

 

Close the door.

Otherwise, make the system think you closed the door. I keep a screwdriver by the driver's seat to work the latch in the door. Other members have installed an interrupt switch that allows them to fool the system.

dont think those are the answers I'm looking for, especially the first one...

I'd like to disable it permanently rather than having to rig something up. Anybody know a way this can be done?

 

Then remove the door panel and cut the wire to the door ajar switch. Tape up the end.

In my '99 I took the trim panel off that covered the bottom of the steering wheel, (can't remember if I had to remove the ignition cylinder) and pulled the one wire off of the tab that goes to a "ring" that's around the cylinder. No more ding, ding... The wire was black w/purple stripe IIRC.

There will be 10 dings that you can't get rid of but after that... sweet silence!

Easily reversible if/when you decide to sell the truck.

 

You really need a schematic. Usually there's a relay, or even better, you can remove the 'chime' itself.
