Turn signal problem

on my 2000 f150, sometimes when i go to click up the left or right signal it does not stay clicked up or down like it is supposed to. the signals work and everything just the lever doesnt stay up or down by itself. what could the problem be? Need to get it fixed because inspection is coming and idk if they will allow that
thanks

you might have to replace that whole arm. I dunno tho, it might just be a spring or clip that has broken loose, and can just be put back on.

Might sound stupid, but make sure your steering wheel is straight when you go to use the blinkers, i know mine will kick down if the wheel is turned some
