Power windows/locks
Ok I have a 2004 new body style reg. cab f-150. It is an xl so no power anything. I have found a guy that will sell me all oem parts out of a crashed f-150 for $250. (regulators, lock motors, and switches) He has no wires so i would have to wire it up myself whitch i am competent enough to do if i had a diagram. But i can get all new parts off a1electric.com for $347 shipped wires and everything witch would probably be easier. So i guess my questions are would it be really difficult to wire the oem stuff up from scratch? I am going to be tieing it into an alarm from travis at kcautosounds.com. Is it worth saving $100 or is it really hard work? And does anyone have a wiring diagram if i decide to go that route? Thanks a bunch!

I'd definitely use as much OE as possible. It makes it MUCH easier to diagnose, maintain, & find repair parts for in the future. How much does a1 charge for a single replacement motor? I bet they don't even offer one. Do you think it's because their motors NEVER go bad? Or because they're happier just to sell you a whole new system...
You can find the wiring diagram in a Ford EVTM available from Helm for a few hundred, or eBay for a lot less. But the best value is a Ford DVD, which can be found on eBay, maybe the F150online vendors, or even from me. The '03-04 DVD covers every car, truck, & van of those years, and it includes TSBs & FSAs (recalls) up to Dec.06 . E-mail me for more info.
