2000 Ford F150: Early this moring my wife calls me from work and says the security light in the instrument cluster is blinking when the truck is off. Does anybody know if this is normal?... The truck is new to my wife, it was her grandfather's. Anyway, it is the factory alarm system. The passenger lock doesn't work with the key fob but works on the driver's side. When you take the car out of park the driver's side locks and passenger side doesn't. The horn and headlights don't flash. Just a security light in the dash flashing when the truck is off. Anyone have this happen? Can anyone help me out with some info?.... Thanks.

 

Download an owner's manual from www.fleet.ford.com under MAINTENANCE and give it to her if the hard copy is missing.

If you have the hard copy manual, give it to her.

My parent's 2001 expy has the security light that blinks when off, so at least that should be normal
