Cheers to FORD

Got some good news from FORD;

About a week ago my Drivers side power window fell to the bottom of the door. Took the door apart and found a mess of cable and what looked like a broken one. Called the Dealership and was told it was going to be possibly around a 300.00 to 500.00 fix.

More than a little preturbed (Vehicle is 1 month outta warranty and at 31,200 miles) I called the 1-800 Customer service line, who told me to have the dealership look at it and FORD would "see" what they could do.

After taking the day off from work and dropping it off at the dealer, the service dept calls and said it was the motor (at 31,000 miles?).

Long story made short, FORD replaced the motor and only charged me $33.63.
So, thought I would share this with y'all as it made me feel pretty good that they took care of me...

Great Dealership in Nashville also btw : Champion Ford

Thats good to hear about the dealership. I know some people hate to go to them for help, but sometimes you have too. I've used several of the area dealerships for parts and if you compare to the cost of Ford parts vs. parts store house brands the difference can be pennies compared to the quality. Another experience that I have had at the dealership is telling them what you need done and not having to pay a diagnostic fee. Example 'my waterpump is leaking out of the weep hole and I want the waterpump replaced'. Don't say I have a leak I need fixed.

The exact same thing just happened to me. Did your window motor still make noise when you pushed the window up/down button? Mine still works, it just looks like the cable has come unspooled, not broke. If I do have to take it in I hope I can get as good a deal as you. Mine is about 3 months out of warranty and around 39,000.

Yep , still made noise and when i pulled the door panel off, i had cables everywhere, but all ends were still attached to the motor or window except one (which was broken). The dealership looked at it and said it was the motor. I didnt challenge it since they fixed it a no charge anyhow.
But yes, the motor did still make a noise when i pushed the up/down button.

FYI I am hearing more and more guys complain about this problem. Go look online, in just a regular search engine. Ford also said they are aware of it, but it doesn't justify a recall in their eyes... glad you got someone to get the stealership to help! Good to know. Check this site out:
