Dash Light Replacement
Dash Light Replacement
Today's project was replacing 2 burned out bulbs in the dash cluster of my '98. After determining that the bulbs were only $1 each, I ended up replacing all of them for good measure.
Anyhow, the first post in the following thread made the job 10 times easier:
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=126765
I searched for awhile for a thread about how to do this, and came across nothing until I stumbled upon that thread in another post. While not directly related, the tips for removing the cluster to gain access to the bulbs was exactly what I needed.
Once the dash cluster is removed, you'll notice 5 black housings, around the size of a nickel, which house the bulbs that illuminate the dash cluster. Give them a quarter-turn to remove, and the reverse to install. Simple. Also, the smaller white assemblies are for the dummy lights. Replace (or remove
) them as necessary.
Rather than respond to that thread (original post 4 years ago) with my thanks, I figured a new one with appropriate title might make it easier for those searching for info in the future.
Good luck!
