Tach Where/What kind?

I am looking to install a tach in my V6 manual truck and was wondering on ideas of a good place to install. What type would anyone suggest? I only want a basic 2.5" unit and was thinking of an A-Pillar install but I believe there might be enough room just to the right of the steering column in some plastic molding. Comments?

Thanks,.

Why not swap a factory tach in?

Tach

So how difficult is a factory tach swap? The truck only has 57K miles and I wouldn't want to compromise the odometer reading.

On older trucks, it's easy. On yours, I think you'd have to get a tach cluster (new or used), have it programmed with your mileage, & then programmed for your truck.

I also want to install a tach in a 2000 V6, what do you connect the tach input wire to?

For one method that's guaranteed to work, click the tan CV in my signature & look in the Tachometer album.
