***Factory alarm, Pease, HELP!!!!
ok guys, I have a 1998 F150 XLT 5.4 V8
My truck included a factory alarm with keyless entry. Well lately Every time i turn my truck off, the alarm goes off. I have to either stick my key in the door and turn it or hit the un-lock button on the remote to make it stop. And sometimes when my truck is just parked, the alarm just goes off for no reason at all.
Its driving me nutts! I cant take it anymore.
Can you help me figure out how to disable this feature. Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Have you put an aftermarket alarm in it...I'm assuming no, so I'm thinking it could be your doorpins are acting up, I believe the doorpins are integrated to the piece that locks onto the doorframe. Basically if this is happening your doorpins are reading closed whn you lock the truck but they might jump to open causing the alarm to go off, check 'em out
The alarms goes off exactly when i turn the ignition off, before i even open the doors to get out of my truck, I have tried every possible way. doors open, closed, unlocked, locked. It (alarm) still goes off as soon as ignition hits off. Every now and then when it doesn't goo off when i kill the ignition it usually goes off within a few minutes, again every possible way doors open ,closed, locked, unlocked.
oh and yes it is the stock alarm that came with the truck.
Thanks!!!

Do your locks lock automatically when you shift to "D" or anytime after you turn the truck on? Do they unlock when you kill the ign? Doorlocks are direct to the alarm (I guess you've figured) so maybe your doorlock module or anything in between is not sending the signal for the disarm
time for some research on bypassing your factory alarm...

I have google'ed for weeks, I have found no info on how to bypass or deactivate my factory alarm, there has to be a fuse i can pull or a wire i can short or something. I need you guys, my last hope before i go nutts. help please!
Factory alarm disarm
Your factory alarm disarm wire is dark/green/purple in the driver's kick, the easiest way to have that wire read to disarm is to get an aftermarket security system/keyless entry, (There is a wire off the alarms that could be spliced into the disarm wire to disarm the system either when you unlock the car using the remotes, or when you turn off the car) it achieves this by similarly locking when you either start the car or shift to "D", then unlocking when you kill the ign.
you could probably get away with splicing the lock and unlock wires to the disarm, but would require careful connections using diodes or else you;d get burnt door lock motors.
pink/blk - lock
red/orange - unlock in driver's kick
Good luck but if you aren't too sure take it to a place that does alarms, circuit city, best buy....

It sounds to me like your factory alarm might have a bad ground. The ignition wire is 12v+ when on and I'm assuming that at that time there's no problem. When the ignition is turned off, the ignition wire then rests at (-) providing a suitable ground via feedback through the alarms ignition input wire. At that point, it's just like hooking the alarm up for the first time and it goes off. I would find the factory alarm and meter the ground and/or the housing for sufficient ground.
