AC compressor fuse blowing

Hiya! I have a 2000 4.2L V 6 with about 105k.

The fuse for my AC Compressor blows every time I shift from park into drive. Once in drive (and foot on brake) I pull the blown fuse and pop in a new one. The AC runs like a champ until the next time I shift from park to drive.

Is this just a "change the compressor" issue, or is there possibly something else going on?

thanks for the help!

There's nothing wrong with your compressor.

You have a short circuit in your backup lamp circuit. The fuse is blowing as you go from P to N through the R position.
