Electric trailor brake ?

Ok I have a 2001 super crew and am going to install a electric trailor brake. i have one question, where do i connect the "brake" wire from the brake box to the wireing harness on the truck ? Someone told me about a light green wire in the bundle under the steering colum ???? Any help !

I don't want to assume what you are calling the brake wire on the controller ( either the output to the E-Brakes or the brake light itself ).

1. Do you have the factory tow kit on the truck ?
If you do, there is a 5 wire E-brake Pigtail that is plugged in under the dash, that gives you all the wires for the brake controller at the 4 & 7 pin connectors.
You also need to install the trailer tow relays per the factory guide.

This is the '06 Trailer Tow, but the connector is close to the same area on the '01.

There is a sticky at the top of the hauling & Towing forum with the relay info in it.
