Adding cruise control to a 99 f150

If someone could tell me what I need to install cruise control onto a 99 f150 I would greatly appreciate it. I am interested in having the steering wheel controls rather than some aftermarket cruise kit that has weird looking foreign toggles to add. Thanks to all that can provide me with some information.

I'm trying to do the same thing here.

Apparently all you need are the controls then the dealer has to activate it for you- problem is I can't find a dealer that is even aware they can enable cruise control on the computer.

Good luck.

I know you can do that on an 04+ NBS F-150 because it is drive by wire, but not sure about the older trucks before that. I have never heard of anyone with a truck before 04 doing it.

So how did you get cruise enabled after you installed the switch? Dealership did it for you? This is what Steve advised me to do, but so far the dealership service centers here have no clue what I'm talking about.

Which of these two parts did you use, if any?

I heard you can do it also on the 04+ but nothing on 97-03. If it is the same then that would be great. I just dont want to buy parts until I know for sure. If you know it can be done then please let me know.

Go here Bought4Less.com
They have the proper kit that you need. Its an aftermarket cruise that performs better than most any factory cruise. The handle used blends in nicely and looks fine.
