Any Ford tech input appreciated..

The stock oil pressure sensor in the '04 and up F-150 ( probably all before too) is a simple on/off switch with two wires. I have installed an aftermarket with a sensor that reads pressure and since I disconnected the stock on/off sensor, I am getting a "check gauge" warning.
What would be the circumstances if I were to take the two stock sensor wires and connect them together completing the circuit?? In my feable mind this should not create an issue and should satisfy the "check gauge" warning. What do you think??
I could install a mechanical T and run both sensors but there isn't enough room on the back of the filter seat unless I purchase an oil cooler spacer and replumb it that way...I am looking for simplicity...

Try shunting the sensor wires and see.
I installed 1/8'' fittings and a tee arrangement for an electric sender.
It's a tight place to work but can be done.
The sensor is mounted to the pan rail area, with copper tubing and fittings adapting to 1/8" and one wire to the cab gage.
I knew it would generate a fault indication so left it in place and hooked up.
The dash looks at all these items.
