98 F-150 . 4.6 W VIN.

I had the recall done at the dealership. Now months later the CC don't work. Now I took a look at the jumper that was installed at it had a blue sticker that said :

"Important: this jumper harness contains a fuse that is not serviceable.
If this harness is damaged or if the fuse is blown, remove and discard this harness, and install KIT# 9F924"

First how do I know if this fuse is blown and what would my next course of action be?

Could a problem be somewhere else. Of course I checked the fuse under the dash.

In the wheel or brake pedal or somewhere else?

The initial recall fix was to put a fuse on the jumper incase the switch goes bad and tries to light the truck on fire. Then they would replace the ones that came back in with a burnt fuse with the updated switch. Consider yourself luckey, the whole truck might have gone up if you didn't get the recall done. I would take it back to the dealership and let them give you a new switch since your original one was a faulty one and made the fuse take one for the team.

Later on when they got caught up with how many switches needed replaced they skipped the fused jumper idea and just replaced the switch from the start, but they didn't have the millions of them made they would need for this when the recall first came out.

 

Ok thanks.....but.....How do I know if the fuse is burnt out right at the harness? I don't want to take it in and have them say "it was not the fuse with the jumper it was 'this part here' and now here is your bill".

Check for power at the CC switch.

edited because it's too doggone early and my brain wasn't on yet...

 

Just open the fuse cover & check the fuse.
