I have look all through here to make sure I wasn't asking something that was all ready answered and didn't see anything too helpfull...maybe I missed something

Anyways, I have a '01 SuperCrew with the 5.4L engine and I am trying to get the AstroFlex 2205U Remote Starter to work. I have it all hooked up and here are my problems.

With the key in, so PATS doesn't have a problem,
The first time hitting the remote start the truck starts fine, but the second time it overcranks a little bit, then the third time it just leaves the starter engaged. If I let the truck sit a little while it will work fine again the first time. Does this seem like I don't have the right tach sense wire? Which wire should it be connected to?

Second,
I bought the OM-FOT-1 PATS override module and I cannot get it to program with the directions. I have a type 'A' connector and it says the the pinout is Ground, Ignition, RX, TX which I connected to. But when you try to program it, then start it with the remote starter, the indicator on the module doesn't change and the theft light blink fast and the truck cranks but doesn't start. Any ideas on what I can do for this?

Does it have a 'cold start' option? I know they used to have a mode where it would crank it for quite a while, if it was cold out, and the other option to just crank it for a second.. but that was on a system i had about 5 years ago.. *shrug*

 

Ok, I got the starter working, I finally figured out how to do the auto tach-sense on the control unit and that got it working. As for the Override Module, I have no clue.

On astroflex's website there is a override module for ford pats system and one for ford securilock. The one they gave me is for a ford securilock, but in the manual for it, it says that it supports the '01 F-150. I have tried programming it several times ... with no luck. It says to push and hold program button then connect harness, then insert key and turn on, wait for theft light to go out then remove key, then remote start in 10 seconds. I do all this, but the theft light just blinks fast and the led on the module just stays solid. I don't know what could be wrong with it as I have it wired exactly how it says to...any ideas? this is a AstroFlex OM-FOT-1. Here is the description off the website.
