'98 F150 Headlamp issues...HELP!!

The DRL work, and the so do the tail lights and the running lights in the front when the headlight switch is turned on. The brights work but must be fiddled with, brights flash is fine, indicator and reverse light are all fine. The headlamps simply won't power up when the headlight switch is on. All fuses have been checked and are not blown. What else is there? What are these relays everyone is talking about? Even if everything else is fine, could it be electrical? Thanks.

They are factory bulbs so I'm not sure - they've never been taken out. Truck has never needed front end work done either.

Probably time for a new MFS. Check for proper feed on the RED/YELLOW wire at the switch. If it is good, then replace the MFS.

If the feed is NOT good, then check the headlight switch.

Inspect the wiring connectors at each switch for burned or corroded pins/wires. Repair if needed.

No "relays" in the 98's DRL circuit...

Thank you very much, I appreciate all your help. I lied, the brights now don't work either. And, sorry, but I'm not sure what the MFS is, I'm not really vehicle savvy. Thanks.

Well that changes things...

MFS=Multi-function switch (turn signals, etc...)

If flash-to-pass (FTP) is normal but regular high beams are not, check the same wire as instructed above. It's used for the both high and low beams (except FTP) as it feeds into the MFS.
