Keyless Entry System

I just bought a 04 F150 with the Keyless entry system, reading the owners guide I need to find the factory 5-digit code. I do not have the wallet card and I could not find a 5-digit number on the computer module under the hood. I would rather not pay a dealer so could somone help me?

On the 04 (or any other Ford), the Vehicle Security Module (VSM) or equivalent is not located under the hood.

For a regular cab model, it's behind the left rear quarter trim panel.

For a SCAB or SCREW, it's behind the trim panel behind the rear seatback, which must be removed to get to the panel.

The factory code should be on a label on the VSM.

Here are some directions that I typed up from another members posts / pictures & other member input on gaining access to the VSM/BSM in a SuperCrew / Super Cab.
http://my.voyager.net/~sscully/04and...eatremoval.doc

Std cab the VSM/BSM is mounted behind the cover on the c-pillar, just below the speaker.

You did not specify which cab type you had, so this should cover all 3 types ( 2 in the direction, 1 is remove the c-pillar trim panel )

Thanks

That was great directions the only thing that was missing was to remove the center seat belt cover. After I removed that it came out real easy. Thanks again now I can use my push button door locks.
