Windshield Wiper Insane??

Hey fellas, I recently drove from RI to NC, and had to drive through this storm moving up the east coast (and had to stop at some points due to the visability being as close to null as rainishly possible). When the rain started to subside to a drizzle I selected the imbetween settings (little bars not arrows) and remembered that it is not functioning correctly. If I turn the wipers completely off, then back on the first through 5th notches (before the arrows that just run it non-stop) they are at a freeky cadence. The first notch will wipe, then wait then wipe twice fast, then wipe slowly 4 or 5 times then fast a bunch of times, and the trend continues and just gets wierder untill you reach the regular non-stop wiping. Hope this doesn't confuse anyone...but its wierd, I can live with it because if you constantly change it it stays bearable. THanks for the help!

Angry my wipers are nutted too

ill be driveing down the road and sometimes outta nowhere my wipers will come on here and there. it doesnt happen all the time, just on random occasions at random places. they will either stop on their own or i have to turn the wiper switch on and let the wipers go ape then turn it off to make the damn things stop. anyone know what might be causein the problem? it didnt start doing that till one day i pulled off(rather ripped off) the light switch in a pitiful attempt to change the backlight color on the light switch. im thinking its grounding out somewhere but im not positive
