No headlights only high beam icon on dash

No headlights on my 2000 F-150 xlt only the high beam icon on the dash. Went to turn on my headlights and nothing came on, turned them off again and then back on and had headlights. Went to the store turned them off, finished shopping, went to leave turned on headlights and nothing. been that way ever since. checked all fuses both under dash and under hood no blown fuses jiggeled everything in both areas , took apart switch to see if anything wrong,
all contacts seemed ok, did a visual on the wiring as best I could. Can anyone HELP!

No fog or dtr lights

If the high-beam indicator comes on instead of the low-beam headlights, it means every headlight bulb that's good, is NOT grounded. So if both bulbs are good, neither is grounded. Wiggle their wiring until you find the fault(s). It's probably just a loose screw. Has your front end been repaired?

Ford uses green hex-head screws for most grounds, and most ground wires are plain black, so look around for several black wires going to a green screw in the body.

If you want to know exactly where the screw for each headlight is, read this thread.
