Exclamation Starting problems

I own a 1998 Ford F-150 4x4 with a 4.6l Triton engine and I am having a problem with stating it on occasions’. From time to time I can go out and start my truck, only to find that it won’t start. All the lights are working, and I have tried jumping it during this problem with the same out come.

1. It has plenty of charge
2. Cables on the battery look good
3. I can take a screw driver and cross over the starter and the solenoid will kick in., but immediately after I can try to start it and no sound what so ever; except from the lights and buzzer from the truck.

I would really appreciate all input I can get on this one. I can’t afford to put her in the shop right now.

Get a battery post cleaner and clean the battery posts and the connectors. You can also use a wire brush but it is a lot harder.

clean all the battery connections. check connections at starter as well. throw a voltmeter in the battery and have a friend try to crank her over. make sure all those main connections on the firewall are clean and tight as well. had same problem few months back my battery was just dead.
