Electrical problem? Please Help
I have a 97 F150 V8 and seem to have some kind of electrical issue. It began with the starter dragging a little before it would start. This has gone on for months, but last week it began to start fine everytime, but the other day my fuel gauge decided it didn't want to work and all of the other guages on the dash were working, then the speedo decided it didn't want to work, but the fuel gauge did. To make a long story short, I am clueless on what is going on with the electrical in my truck.
I have replaced the battery, alternator and inspected the cables. I am lost on this and hope someone on here has had this type of problem before and can help. Not sure if there is some kind of voltage regulator or relay going bad? Maybe the instrument cluster in the dash is going bad (wouldn't all of the gauges being acting weird, instead of just the fuel and speedo)?

I have a similar problem and cannot figure it out, while the truck is off the battery will slowly drain down and after 3 days it will need a jump to get it started.
Anyone have a similar problem and know what might need to be fixed? this is a 97 F150 with 203000 mile on her, org starter, altr, new battery

check all of your grounds. on my 2002, i had to replace the timing chain cover because of a hole and i disconnected one of my main grounds going to the motor. every time i would cut on the headlights, the truck would die. talk about confuse the heck out of me and the ford dealership. ended up spending about 5 hours and $200 at the dealership to fix the problem.
sad thing is, while i was there, i was in the back with the mechanic looking at the motor because they couldn't figure it out, and i'm the one who found the ground undone, and they still charged me.
