Cruise Control
Cruise Control
I've got a question that I didn't see covered in another post so maybe someone can lead me to a thread if i missed it. I would like to know if while cruise control is running and you manually press the gas maybe to pass someone does it mess with the cruise control being its enabled or does it for that time disable it? Also the cruise does control the brake as well right? Thanks for all the replys.
Sorry if it seems like beginners question! I really don't know. Thanks

The accelerator doesn't kill the cruise, only the
Off Button
Coast/Decel button (i got to many cars to remember what it's called)
Brake pedal.
If you just step on the gas and the release the gas, the cruise will hold where you had it before before you started fiddling with your right foot.
I'm also pretty sure the ACCEL button works like the gas pedal.
If you want to cruise faster you can use the Accel button followed by the SET button.

Thanks for the reply... I was sure it would be more talked about but i know how if your going faster than what you set at the truck slows itself down so i was just trying to figure out if you made it go faster by getting on the accelerator did it try to slow down while your trying to accelerate.. Kinda confusing I'm sure but you've covered it. Thanks
The cruise servo just opens the throttle exactly the same way the pedal does - it doesn't prevent you from opening it more, or fight you if you need to go faster for a moment.
The SET/ACCEL button has several functions depending on the cruise mode, but most importantly: holding it down causes steady acceleration; tapping it causes it to increase exactly 1 MPH per tap. That means if you're in a 55 zone, and you enter a 65, you can tap it exactly 10x & you'll go up exactly 10 MPH. Same with COAST/DECEL.
