Ok my buddy was helping me with the alt, having some charging issues....well he "checked" the system by removing the battery cable while it was running...you guessed it, it fried something. I think it is the GEM? windows lights ect not working anymore.......HELP!!!!

 

Did you check your fuses ?

I am dragging this from way in the back of my brain, but I want to say on the 99-03, Fuse #18 ( 16 ) in the battery junction box ( under the hood fuse panel ) feeds a few items in the interior fuse panel. This is a total SWAG on the fuse number, shooting from the hip on it.

Post what MY truck, and body style ( SCrew, SCab std ), and trim level ( XL, XLT, etc ) you have.

I would start with checking the fuses in the Battery Junction box, or the fusable links between the battery, and the feed to the starter relay on the firewall ( common lug for the run to the fuse panels ).

If you do not find a fuse straight away, then let us know how good you are with a meter or test light, so we have an idea of what format to put the directions in ( don't want to get to basic, if you don't need that ).

I did check the fuses, one, #16 was burned out, replaced it. as soon as i turn on the ingnition it burns out again... I am not that good with this stuff and dont have any meters.....any help is wonderful.......

its a 1998 f150 4x4 ext cab

put in the new alt.....so that is working fine now, fuse #15 keeps burning out.....controls interior lights, windows, radio.....

is there another fusable link somewhere?

is there a way to manually crank the window back?

and will i do anymore damage if i drive it before finding out whats wrong with it?
