Driving Lights Auto on with ignition on. How??

Where under the hood do I find a 12 volt connection that comes on with the ignition to hook a relay for driving lights? I just need to close the relay. I'll get the main power for the lights from a battery connection to the relay.

Thanks

If you're worried about leaving the lights on with the ignition off, why not just wire to an ignition source for power and use a seperate switch to turn them on/off. That way, when the ignition is off, so are the lights.

on the '04+ MY trucks, under the hood add-a-fuses are a bit harder to add, there is only the aux fuse / relay panel.

In this is the clock spring illumination ( hot at all times, fed through the main headlamp switch ) ) fuse & 5 relays ( max, 4x4 & DRLs & AC clutch ) & the diode for the AC.

Another option is to use the parking lamps as power to the coil for the aux lamp's relay ( or the low or high beams, depending on the function you want to get )

This is just an easy option for powering the coil on the relay, and you would have to have at least the parking lamps on to have the aux lamps on. Not quite the key in run position function, but a safety option all the same.

This is a power source you can get inside the cab of the truck as well, if you are installing switch, to turn them on and off. The brown wire is at the main headlamp switch.
