need help finding pins....

Can anyone tell me where to get these?? This is the pin I need to add to my connector to add fog lights. This picture is of one I pulled out of the same connector on my 2006 s-crew. I have checked online and my local dealer with no luck. Is this generic for other vehicles as well?? Maybe I can go to the junkyard to find one??

A trip to the bone yard to buy the connector from a 04+ main headlamp connector might be easiest.

The other option is to download the wiring pigtail catalog from :

http://www.motorcraft.com/products.do?item=23

I think what you are looking for is WPT-396 or WPT-506.
You would want to confirm this with your dealer, prior to ordering. They might not allow returns on special orders ( ask to confirm ).

Take another look through the catalog, to make sure it is the correct MY truck ( that one is 2004-00 ?? )

The illustration guide looks to be the correct connector type, but again confirm prior to ordering.

looking at the illustration guide, the Pwr Door lock, and Pwr window switch also appear to use the same connectors, maybe a bit easier at a bone yard to get ?? These would be WPT-485 & WPT-498 ( right next to WPT-506 )

Good luck, let us know what you use ( new / used ) and from what for the project. The next member doing the same thing would be grateful.

Most dealership parts departments keep a large selection of replacement terminals, so you should be able to buy them there, or (since they're not inventoried) talk them out of a few. But you'll have to dig thru them to get the ones you want, and they might not let you go in the back, and the parts guys might not want to do the digging, either. Usually the techs get what they need.

Junkyard would definitely be the easiest, but if you can't find them, I think I have a few. I was working on converting my '99 CV to Autolamps when I totalled it.

need help finding pins....UPDATE

Well, after searching online and local ford dealers, wasting hours, today I walk into the local Pep Boys Auto store browsing the accessories and stumble across a newer section of the store (automotive repair). Here I find the connectors and the pins I have been looking for to finish adding factory fogs to my 06 s-cab! I guess I should start my searches elsewhere first before wasting time online and talking to the parts guy at ford (which by the way I knew more about my truck than he did, but that's a different story). I will post a message to let you know how the pins worked out. Thanks to the members who are always so helpful when I post a question. By the way, if your looking for these type of parts and don't have a Pep Boys Auto in your area, the web site on the packages is: www.rbinc.com

No surprise that you know more than a parts guy. Their job qualifications DON'T include ever having opened a hood before. They just have to be able to work the computers, read the books, & walk to the shelves. Same for service advisors & managers. You might occasionally run into one who really knows cars, but they're the exception - not the rule.

Well... the pins did not fit in my connector so I just ordered a pigtail kit from www.getfordparts.com They are always so helpful and answered my emails within 30 mins of posting them. I ordered a pigtail kit that had 4 pins in it so I can have spares. I'll keep you posted on how I make out. By the way, the fog lamp connectors did work! Talk later
