Power Door Locks

This may not be a major concern, but my door locks don't automatically engage when when I put the truck in "drive" anymore. after 6 years of hearing the thunk of the locks engaging, I just want to make sure nothing major is going on with the wiring. A friend of mine had the same problem a few months ago when his truck died. Unfortunately I only have a Chilton's Manual(gag!) and it doesn't cover this symtom in the troubleshooting section. Any help would be greatly appreciated ...

You may be having a GEM problem. The cause could be coming from a leaking windshield. Do a search, lots of info here about it.

The auto lock feature may have been disabled. Give this a try.

LastSplash,
Same issue here, I want the auto lock feature to work. Tried instructions, only get one chirp, but no auto lock active. Tried keypad as posted on this site with aloso no luck. History on my post. Going back to dealer, may cause something else not to work. Any ideas?

update #1

I checked all the fuseblocks and found the the TCS fuse was blown... I replaced the fuse and everything (powerlocks/TCS) worked for awhile, then the fuse blew again this afternoon. Chilton claims it's either the TCS switch or the EPC circuit. unfortunately, i'm overseas and go to the dealer to get a new TCS, so i may have to suck it up till the next time i go home. is there a site that i shoud surf to find and order that switch?

FIxed it, Finally!!!

When I was on vacation, I went to the local dealership to ask if anyone reported problems with the TCS/autolock fuse blowing. The parts guy said the TCS harness insulation was probably worn through and is the cause of the problem. After selling me a new shifter, it turns out that he was correct. I didn't really need a new shifter, just needed to tape the abrasion. When I have extra time, I'll include more photos on how i fixed the old harness. In the meantime, take a look of the closeup of the abrasion...
