factory security system ?
I had a 97 XLT and it came with the remote lock/unlock/panic button when i bought the truck used.
Earlier this year i crashed the 97, and now have a 98 XLT. However, this one didnt come with the remote lock/unlock/panic button keychain. I just recieved the key. I thought ok, I usually locked the truck from the inside so its not that big of a deal. But when i lock the truck from the inside just hitting the lock button, there is no security light coming on in the dashboard. Do not all trucks come with the factory security system.
I'm also curious to see if i can use my lock/unlock/panic keychain remote from the old truck and get it programmed for my 98. I kept the spare so thats why i have it. I hope what i wrote is clear, i really have no idea how to ask my question - so thank you in advance for any help or suggestions you guys have!!
