Help!!

The radio in my truck will now play after turning the key off, this just started occurring. Now today, the factory alarm has been going off when I open the door to get in. I have an after market viper system and have never had this problem before. Anti-theft and radio are on the same fuse, so maybe it is shorted to power? I unplugged the fuse and the radio continued to play. Any suggestions on what else may be causing this?

Take it to whoever installed your viper, they have a lifetime warranty on thier module, that might be doing it. Or... you could have some serious shorts under the dash.

so this mean that the accessory wire is still being powered up after the key is shut off. Easiest thing to do is unplug the factory security system(if it has one) and see what happens. You can also pull the radio out and unplug the radio and meter the factory accessory wire to see if it goes on and off with the key.

Let me know if you need any more help,
Edward

I was thinking it could also possibly be the igniton switch? Truck has 170,000 Miles on it and original igniton.

Bad ground on something aftermarket. Fix it. Or remove the fuse tap from your fuse box.
