Electrical problem
I know this is posted on many times in the forums, and I've even posted on it before as well. I've searched and can't really seem to find anything. My power locks on my 2000 F-150 supercab haven't worked right for quite some time. Replaced the acuators, nada. Just seem like they're not getting any power. My power windows also act like they don't get enough power, or they're getting stuck. Somebody said something about the GEM. I removed the GEM and the fuse box, but the locks still got power to them and would act just as they did before I took the GEM and fusebox out. Of course, nothing else in the truck worked, but the locks weren't effected by the GEM. So my question is could the control module for the keyless entry have something to do with the locks not working right? Thanks!
Check your grounds with an ohmmeter.
verify 12V to switch
Sounds like poor ground though..
I have a 99 and mine didn't work right either, but a couple of actuators took care of mine..
Also check for any binding in the lock rods..
Keep us posted and good luck

Thanks for the reply, but none of those things seem to be the problem. Checked the voltage at the switch... 12V. Checked for smooth operation of the rods, work fine. As I mentioned, I replaced the actuators with brand new ones and that didn't help either. I went ahead and did a little test of the keyless module to see if it might have an effect. I unhooked the box and the locks still got power, so I guess I'm going to have to keep on looking under the dash for more wires to pull on.
The RAP module is not in-circuit when using the interior switches for the Power Door Locks (PDL). It is only in-circuit when using the key-fob.
The GEM module is also not in circuit at any time for the PDLs.
Also, the power window circuit has nothing in common with the PDL circuit except the physical proximity of the switches. Treat this as a completely separate issue.
If you provide an email address, I will send you the schematic and, if available, the diagnostic procedure as a pdf file.

That is great. I've been looking for a schematic for a while to no avail. My email address is klwort01@morehead-st.edu. I was going off the advice of my father's mechanic who told him the GEM controlled all interior electrical accessories, including the PDL. Of course, through trial and error, and a couple smashed fingers, I found out that's not the case. Anyway, thanks so much for the information.
