blank cd display

Exclamation blank cd display

the display for my factory cd player has been blank now for a while. it comes and goes sometimes. is it worth fixing or should i put an aftermarket cd player in.will an after market cd player mess up my keyless entry and is it hard to put in thanks guys

truck is a 99 xlt off road package

unless you cant read simple 10 step instructions, you should have no problem wiring it and instalation. and yes you will like the sound and power over stock radio even if its a cheaper lower end model.

As for "an after market cd player mess up my keyless entry" I guess it depends on how bad you butcher it. It should not, if installed correctly.

If you go with an aftermarket, just check an audio store or someplace like Best Buy for an adapter harness. They're cheap and it saves all the wire butchering plus makes it easy to install an OEM back if you're ever inclined to. You can also get the adapter plates so the install looks cleaner.
