Hi Guys,
I need some help here, my truck is a 98 Ford xlt ext cab with a 4.6L v8 triton. The problem that I'am having is when I turn the ignition to the run or start the truck, all the dash lights flash 30 times then pause, then flash 30 times and pause, then flash again 30 times, then the flashing stops? When I say all the dash lights I mean the dash cluster, the heater and a/c cluster, the light controls cluster, the lights on the door lock switches and window switches. Also on the outside of the truck the front signal lights and the rear signal lights flash the same. I have a Viper command start on the truck and if I start it with the command start none of this happens, until I put the key in the ignition and turn it to run. I turned the toggle switch off on the command start and tried but the same thing happens if it's on or off!
Any help on this problem would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

 

I would go to the shop or a shop that is knows the Viper system you have and have them check it out. Sounds like a PATS system [ factory security system] problem, but I'm not sure you have that on your truck.

 

My truck does not have the PATS(factory security system), but the Viper system does. Some how it went into security mode on it's own! I just disconnected the battery for about a 1/2 hr and reconnected it, that must have reset the system because now it's back to normal!
