Yup, battery is getting weak and the cold weather is making it worse. Mine did the exact same until I replaced the battery, then it was fine. As it was explained to me, the computer re-sets while you're starting the truck if the voltage from the battery drops below a certain threshold at any poiunt while you're starting the truck. Doesn't really hurt anything, but it means you should consider replacing the battery. $89 bought me a Duralast Gold with 1000CA and 850CCA. Works like a champ now.--DIY

Hey, no problem. I know poeple will yell because you didn't do a search for the answer, but I've gotta tell you I never have much luck trying to find anything with a search on this site. Usually takes me a while of sifting through useless results to actually find what I was looking for.--DIY

I third the battery idea, mine did it too, replaced with a 750 cca motorcraft. Searches are often time consuming, but mostly you will find a few ideas.

In this case, the first word of the thread title, limited to this forum. 4th thread down, exact description of this symptom, and the same answer.

The search is not that hard to use, just try the words that one might use to title the thread ( start out with one, and work up ).
I have looked at this a few times this year, and the title of a thread, if used for the search terms, gets the answer on the first page. One just has to want to read upto 25 ( or upto 40, if you change it in user CP ) threads.
No search will return just 1 thread, with all the info.

Yeah, it's just that when you're looking for something specific, a lot of the results you get are just mentions of the things you were looking for or in many cases totally useless.
Besides, it's not that hard for me to do what I jsut did and briefly reply and solve the problem. Don't get me wrong, I like the search feature, but I don't mind answering someone's question, even if it's already been discussed.--DIY

I simply gave the exact keyword search parameters that would return the exact results needed to provide depth and detail to the short answer.

I'm not inclined to type out the same thing repeatedly, however, I am inclined to point a questioner in a very specific direction to find the needed details.

Good to hear. Mine had me worried until I found out it was just a weak battery. Thought my ECU was going bad or something. Glad that did it for you.--DIY
