computer chime...

Lately when I'm driving, my truck will start chiming outta nowhere. it's not like the same chime you get if a door is open or headlights are on, it's softer. It does it 5 times, stops for about 5 seconds, then does it again....over and over. I dont have a clue what this is, BUT the same days it does it, my wipers only work in park and neutral, and my heater/compass stays on when I take my key out. it's killing my battery. I dont know where to start...

Sounds an awful lot like the seat belt chime. Is your seat belt on when it starts going off?

no the seatbelt chime is much louder. I let my car warm up everyday so it goes off when Im sitting there with no seatbelt on.

the airbag light comes on with the rest of the guages on the dash at startup, and so does the 'airbag off'' light under the radio for a few seconds.

it's really sounding like a faulty ignition switch to me, but I dunno if ford uses that specific chime for a reason or if something is outta whack.
