2003 supercrew drivers side door panel removal

Hi Everyone,

So here is where I am at in my window motor replacement. Bought the motor ($44.95), bought the holesaw ($23.95), Bought a haynes manual ($18.99) looked at the Muth guide for removing the door panel.

Realized the Haynes manual, at least for panel removal, is worthless. The Muth guide shows and entirely different style door panel than what I have.

So at 10:30 last night I came to the sudden conclusion that I have no idea what the he** I am doing.

I removed the power control for windows/locks. Removed 2 bolts that were behind that. Removed two screws on the bottom of the panel.

The skin appears to be loose but being held up by the door handle. I have no idea how to remove that.

Is there a step-by-step for a 03 screw.

Thanks for the help.

Just downloaded the instructions again.

Muth did not change them for the 00+ MY.

pop off the trim cup around the door handle, with a plastic trim remover, or very carefully with a putty knife with a rag over it ( don't scratch the door panel there, you won't be happy ).

Pull the door handle to the door open position, and slide that trim cup towards the front, to remove.

I think it is HEX head ( might be phillips ) screw that needs to be removed.

At least that is what I am recalling with dad's '01 SCrew.

I haven 02 screw and have removed the door panel many times. SSCully is right, you have to remove the trim around the door handle to access a screw behind it. Then there's the screw behind the power controls, and the 2 screws on the bottom. Then just grab the door and lift straight up and then out (towards you). If your panel has the interior light on it, you'll want to disconnect that light so you can completely move the panel out of your way. Hope this helps. Good luck.
