Brackets came last night, got the bull bar mounted today.

BalogUK: How do you adjust the 525's? Just loosen the bolt that holds them to the bull bar then reposition? The passenger side lamp is definitely aiming too high, it looks like it got knocked back almost....

yep there should be a bolt on the side of the mount- loosen it about a half turn, adjust-and retighten... if you live off-road, or are on un-paved roads it may be wise to carry a wrench in the glove box to adjust em every once in a while (mine manage to wiggle upwards every few months)

looks great man- you're gonna love em when you turn them on tonight

Hey Balog: I checked my lights... no bolt on the side of the mount... just the bolt holding the lamp to the bull bar (the one actually inside the tube). I'll get some pictures this afternoon.

Ok, got the lights adjusted... Just took a few new o-rings and washers to clamp everything down good.

Now about getting through the firewall... Do I want to go through the grommet just to the right of the brake pedal?

Or do I want to go through just above the parking brake pedal?

i went thru the one above the parking brake- not sure where the one to the right of the brake pedal is, in the engine compartment.

as for the adjustment- looks like you worked something out, but PIAA's other mount is like a swivel mount, the light is bolted to a small platform bracket, if you flip it over, loosen the bolt under the platform, you should have front to back angle adjustment, as well as the ability to rotate it left/right.

I'll take a picture of the mounts next time I have to adjust them...

I've got a 2, maybe 2.5 inch bolt coming out of the lamp that can slide in direction providing vertical adjustments. A collar goes around the bolt and rests up against the lamp. Once you put the nut on and clamp it down it locks the lamps in the vertical and horz. alignments.

Maybe that's what you're describing....

Cool, I couldn't use a wrench to get at it. I had to use a 17mm deep walled socket wrench with a 6in extension. Now to get the wiring done...

Finally got the lights wired up! WOOHOO!!

Thanks for all the help guys, they work great and look great! I love the LED glow when the lights are off

Here's what it looks like with just my headlights (low beams)

And here's what it looks like with low beams, fog lights and the PIAA 525's!!

I still need to tweak the aiming, but its pretty good now, a little high maybe.

LED Power Usage

I just hooked my PIAA's yesterday and they work fine using the above method. I just have one minor question.....I note that the two PIAA switch LED's stay on all the time. How long would it take, say if the vehicle was stored for a month or two, for there to be a noticeable battery drain. I guess I just hate to leave things turned on.

BalogUK, I just got the 520 SMR's and I have the same switch. Do you have your's running hot all the time or tied into the factory light switch. I want mine to be functional when the key is on - I think. If I understand the switch correctly, the LED on it is on green or red depending upon the mode of the switch. If that is correct then I want the power source to be hot only when the key is on so the switch isn't iluuminated all the time like waxwing7771 was talking about. Thanks in advance !

Mine are tied into the factory light switch for the LEDs inside the housing of the 525s. The main power is hot all the time, so yes, the switch is always illuminated. I wanted to be able to turn the lights on without needing the key.

Hey NCSU, are the LEDs inside the housing standard in the 525s, or is that some kind of mod?
