Multifunction Switch Electrical Problems

I am in a real need of assistance. I have a 99 Ford F150 with approx 78K miles. The turn signals stopped working when I would till the steering and of course as with several other Ford owners my wipers would come on occassionally by themselves. So I figured it was probably time to replace the multifunction switch. After doing so, the wipers wouldnt work at all, finally got the wipers going but they wouldnt shut off. So I decided to go back in and see if I'd done something wrong. When I went to pull out the connect that is right below the hazard switch, all seven of those wires came out of the connecter. Now I have no idea where any of those wires belong back in the connecter. Can anyone please help me solve this problem? I need my truck and am afraid to screw it up any further. Please email me @ bulletcounter@yahoo.com.

First, you need a replacement connector shell. That was the original problem. Ford built that wiring harness ~1/16" too short, so when you tilt the column fully down, it jerks the wires out of the connector, breaking the locking tabs that are supposed to retain the terminals.

Once you get the terminals into the new connector, grab the bundle as tight as you can & PULL some slack into them. It takes so little that you won't feel it, but it's enough.

Your wire colors should be the same as this, but there might be some slight differences.
