Silver bulbs?

I keep hearing about silver turn signal bulbs...

What are they and what do they do, exactly?

They give a stealth look to your clear turn signals. They have a silver or chrome coating when the lights are off but glow amber when on. They're usually for clear turn signal lenses, again to keep them looking clear. If you use the standard amber bulbs on clear lenses, depending on the angle of view, they'll turn your whole lens housing orange. Not really good if you're looking for a clean look.

Talking silver tinted

Bought a pair off of e-bay, $9.99 plus shipping, one of them didn't last 45 days. And the silver tinted are NO WHERE as bright as standard bulbs.
But my son bought two at the same time, his two are still ok, so I gave him my 1 good one for a spare. I went to Sylvania Silverstar 3157, has an irridescent look to it, not as cool as the silver tinted, but will do.

Oh, so there's really no need for me to get any because my turn signals are completely separate from the headlights....

I got the cheapos off eBay, too. They're OK, but the part near the connector still shows amber, and the reflector itself reflects that color a little bit. You can still see amber reflecting off the housing, not as stealthy as I thought.

They really wouldn't help cause judging from your signature pic, you have the stock corner lights which part of the plastic is orange anyway. I've seen the Sylvania chrome bulbs lighted on a buddy of mine's and they seem just as bright as the standard bulbs. Don't know what brands are on ebay, but you might want to consider getting the Sylvania silverstar chrome bulbs on a future buy.

something like that... I got them from a friend for free. But at night they look white, so it just looks like one big headlight coming down the road. I really want to get some chromies, but dont have an extra 25 bucks to spend.
