Im wanting a remote start for my truck... After looking, it seems that my only option is to also get an alarm, which would be ok, but I really just want the remote start. I ran across a factory ford remote start kit on ebay : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...5312039&rd=1,1

I really like that kit because it uses factory ford remotes. How difficult would this be to install? He says he has the installation manual for it, but not the wiring diagram... If anyone knows of a different factory ford remote start that would work, please let me know.

We have had the UltraStart remote starters installed by the dealer in both of our current vehicles as well as our 2000 Expedition that we just traded in.

Remote starter installs can be tricky, especially in the newer vehicles. We asked the dealer that we bought the Wife's Mustang from to get a remote starter installed. We had lots of problems with it setting off the alarm and finally had to have it removed.

We then had our regular dealership install the UltraStart and haven't had a problem since. Plus, since my truck and the Mustang have the same brand, the remotes can be programed to start both vehicles. No need to carry around 2 fobs.
