Do I need to adjust...
Do I need to adjust my headlights if I only took the lenses out, replaced the bulbs with Silverstars, and put the them back on? Just replacing the bulbs shouldn't mess up the alignment of the light beams, should it?
It's a 2001 model. Thanks.

the headlight adjusment is done with the entire headlight assembly and to change the bulbs you have to take that out. so, probably, yes.
park your truck 25 feet from a flat wall or something similar on level ground. turn your lights on. measure from the ground to the top of the headlight and then from the ground to the highest point of concentrated light. the top of the light beam should be 0-2 inches higher.

Thanks chiefFX4.
I'd read about doing that, but I was just wondering if I had to. It's getting dark, so I'm going out in a few minutes to check. Hopefully it's not that bad out of whack. Thanks for the help.

I just checked them, and they're dead on. The hi-beams go a bit higher and wider. I took a 10 minute trip down the highway, and the low beams spread evenly all the way across the road in front of me. I flicked the hi-beams on, and it was like a flood light shining from a light house.
I like these Silverstars.
Edit:ROFLMAO! I was driving down the two-lane road in front of my house with my low-beams on, and someone in a jeep liberty flipped their hi-beams at me. I showed them what a hi-beam really was.

Did you get the Silverstars or the Silverstar ULTRAs ?
I have seen the press on the Silverstar ULTRAs, but have not seen them in action yet, to know if they are that much of an improvement over the normal ones.
If they are like comparing the Sylvania Silverstar from the states to the OSRAN Silverstars from Europe, there is a huge difference.
The OSRAM product from Europe is a better bulb then the US Silverstars, I tested them side by side in my motorcycles, and it was noticable to the naked eye. No need for the light meter on that comparison.

I got the regular Silverstars. I can definitely tell they're a lot whiter than the halogens that I just took off. That improvement alone is enough for me.
I "heard" the Ultra's are a little brighter (closer to the hue of sunlight in the light spectrum than Silverstars), and are more suited for serious weather and foggy conditions. They could be re-labeled European Silverstars for all I know.
Oh, no doubt the old school Silverstars are a step up over the factory Sylvania's ( think they were still that back then ).
Just trying to find someone who has used the Ultras. Just curious to know if I should get a set of Ultras to replace the standard Silverstars in mom & dad's cars.
I just got back from a motorcycle ride tonight, and using the high beam on the back roads with the EEC Silverstars is just unreal.
It is a noticable difference to the H13 Silverstars, which are trash compared to yours.
They are better then factory H13's and better then the Sylvania XV-H13s, but due to regs, not up to the type you have.

SSCULLY,
I think there was a guy in the Appearance Products forum that said he got a set of SS Ultras for Christmas. I'll go see if I can find it.
