Did a search for this and found nothing so here's my ?. I just finished installing a new stereo system in my 01 SCAB. When I removed the negative battery cable and the facia from the stereo section, I had to unplug the air bag wire. When finished, I replaced everything and now the air bag light on the dash is on. I triple checked all the connections and everything is where it should be. What's up? Thanks for your help.

 

pull the airbag fuse. its a 15A, cant remember location but it is in the panel that is in the cab of the truck. check ur manual. keep that out for 5 minutes or so, put it back in and turn the truck on but dont start it. turn the truck off, then start it. see if that turns the light off.

just wondering, why did you have to unplug the airbag switch? ive got an aftermarket head unit in mine and i just let the face plate hang there during the operation.

 

The light should be flashing a two digit code. What is it?

I removed the air bag wire connection cause it's connected to the facia that surrounds the stereo and air vents. I didn't want it hanging by the wires while I worked on the stereo. It was just a simple wire harness connection and I disconnected the neg. battery cable before I did anything. I'll check that fuse this morning. As far as any code flashing, there's only the symbol on the gauge cluster flashing in the lower right hand corner.
