switched ignition source
switched ignition source
I Installed my heated seats in my 04 lariat, but for now the feed is wired direct into the fuse panel temporarily.I need to make sure the seats are off when I exit or for sure it will run down the battery. What and where is the best place to find an ignition source for the feed for these seats so when the truck is off the seats are off. thanks

2 Ways for you to do this.
1. Use any hot in run position item ( radio ) to install an add a fuse

This uses the input side ( the hot in run postion ) to feed the addtional fused item on the lead with the butt connector and the origonal fuse is installed to replace the position taken by the add-a-fuse.
2. You can track down the Fused connection for the factory seats, but the 30A to actually run the seats is hot at all times, and the control circuit is what is hot in run position on the 2006's. Think of the control module as a solid state relay.

If the ones you installed work the same way, we can get to the output of Fuse F118 for the power to the seats, and the output of Fuse # f18 for the control circuit.
Don't know what you have going on, let us know, and we can get you on your way to installing them like the factory system if they are a similar function design ( rather then line voltage activated ).
