Hello

I have a 98 Expedition Eddie Bauer. The headlights will not come on at all! I turned auto light switch to off, and turned the headlight on manually and nothing. Before they went out completely I could pull the turn signal, cruise, windshield wiper, hi beam lever back with auto light switch on and they would come on and stay on? Is it the all in one switch or a separate switch?

I had the same problem on my '97 Expy. It turned out to be a fried headlight switch and wiring harness. Do you recall smelling any burning plastic? I would smell it faintly every so often and occasionally when I turned the headlight switch, the lights would come on but flicker then turn off, then on again. This happened a few times until they eventually did not turn on at all. Took it in to the dealer. They never said why it happened. I always used the recommended bulbs (none of the HID looking bulbs that run with higher wattage) so I couldnt think of what could have caused it to fry. Guess it's just Ford's crappy wiring. But after the parts were replaced, it never happened again.
