RKE Wiring Harness Question
I've got a'95 F250 SC PSD with power door locks. There clearly is not an RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) module in the truck, but there is a curious capped harness next to the premium sound amp (the service manuals don't give the pinout for the harness and just call it "cap for automatic transmission with premium audio", which is just strange).
Anyway, what I'm hoping is that someone knows whether or not the RKE hookups are usually tucked somewhere deep in the Instrument Panel off the main wiring, or if there are just plain Power Door Lock models with a primary cabling that completely lacks the harness for RKE (which doesn't seem to make much sense to me, but hey, I'm no electrical engineer).
Thanks, Gary

The dash harness for RKE is a totally different part. You have to remove the dash, then remove the harness from it, & swap in an RKE harness to add it. I know because I sold an RKE dash harness to someone like you.
The regular dash harness is prewired for MOST options, but not RKE because of how it integrates with everything. It would be too complicated to make the RKE stuff stock, and then try to "disable" it for lower trim levels.
But aftermarket RKE systems are cheap, reliable, flexible, & pretty easy to install. I've used a few BullDog systems, but the older ones were pretty flaky. I'm not sure about the current systems. Try epinions.com .

Thanks a million
After market it is. I noticed one other inline in the manual that said it was different for RKE as well, much more than I want to tackle when a substitute is available.
Thanks again, Gary

On a related note...
Does anyone know what this harness is for. I can not find it in the service manual (the white wire is actuall W/R or W/PK and there are two Gray/Black wires going into the single pin showing a gray wire in the photo. It's right in the same area as the chime, amp, and keyless stack...
