Air bag light blinking

My air bag light came on the other day out of the blue. It is flashing 2 and then 7 times. The little light on the dash that shows when the passenger air bag is in the off position is not working. I read somewhere it meant that the light was blown. I soldered in a new L.E.D. bulb and it lit up and went out within seconds and the air bag light was flashing the 27 code. Does anyone know what this code means and what I have to do to fix the problem? Will the passenger airbag still be on or off when I have that switch in that postition?

Replace the bulb with another instead of an LED.

The one that is in it factory is and LED. I just replaced what was there. I may have used one that was a different voltage level or something.

Air Bag Code 27

This code is for the indicator light in the on/off switch. It is burnt out and must be replaced with a 12V incandesent bulb. I used a GE 37 bulb. I cut the old bulb out right below the glass and soldered the new bulb to the remaining wire coming out of the control board. After I re-installed the board whammo... aig bag code gone!! My understanding is that when the airbag light is on on your dash board the air bags have been disarmed!! Hope this helps

I just removed the bulb in my 99 F150 and it is NOT an LED, it is in fact a normal bulb. Just an FYI. The computer is looking for the same resistance from a bulb which an LED will not have.
